PASD column to appear in the Bean:
The Professional Activities and Staff Development Committee
will sponsor a regular column in the Green Bean. We hope
in this way to establish a definite, though informal channel,
in which any questions or problems about library policies
and operations can be answered. In addition to the question
and answer format, about once a month a different department
or branch library will be spotlighted and its activities
reported.
If anyone has any questions or suggestions, whether they be
about specific operational decisions or general—library.n~
policies, please send them to Cynthia Amann, Instructional y
Services Department, King Library North. Any comments,
kudos, or questions will be welcomed: since questions and
answers will be published in the Green Bean, no names or
return addresses need be given.
Update on Data Services:
Some of the new data bases which have come up on-line in
the last few months will greatly expand the subject scope
of Data Services, particularly in the social sciences and i
humanities fields. These include:
Amegigan: Hisory and Life: Quarterly, from 1955. Covers
United States and Canadian history and culture, from pre-
history to the present, including contemporary affairs
yand foreign relations. ` · · ·"‘ ‘ * ”
gygggyg (pronounced "see—record“): From January 1976.
Updated weekly when Congress is in session. It covers
every issue of the Conqressignal Record, which includes
bills and resolutions introduced, amendments, floor
actions, speeches by members of Congress, and executive
communications from the President or an executive depart-
ment.
