Dear Miss Claygn
I was very sorry to learn of the death of
Mr. Bennett. When you were here, you told me how long he had.
been a sufferer, and of course I knew the end must come soon.
Please convey to fire. Bennett our most sincere sympathy,

‘ I think everything in your letter, regarding the
Minutes, etc., is clear. I do not know whether or not the
Minutes make it clear in regard to payment of Headquarteré
expenses for the first week in November or not, but I remember
distinctly, and you spoke of it so many time I could not forget
that .

It does not matter when the convention pledges
are paid. People will he at liberty to consult their own
convenience; You see we have some money on hand now, and are
not so pinched.

Dear Kiss Clay:-

Enclosed find receipt for $9.50, which we shall ap-

ply on your individual pledge given at Buffalo.

I thank you for answering all my questions at this,
your busy time, and do hope your convention will be a good one.
After that splendid meeting at Buffalo, it seems that all the
State conventions are showing vigor and growth. I was glad
Mrs. Hornbrook, of W.Virginia, went, because she took back much
enthusiasm, and I hope at last the State is on its feet.

Cordially yours

Dear Miss Clayze

Thank you for sending account of your State abn-
vention. It is too bad Progress is not a weekly, bee use such
news gets stale by the time the monthly comes out.

The official stationery has not been printed, be-
cause we voted to have a list of Advisory meMbers inserted,
and Miss Shaw has not yet had time to decide the matter. is
waited for this until we are entirely out of paper, and now

quantity '
we shall have a small ammnnx printed without the list, so
you will receive a package before long.

I read very carefully what you s
