ABBEY OF GETHSEMANI

TRAPPI ST, KENTUCKY

NOV. 9, 1960

Dear Victor:

Your letter arrived this morning. It is too bad you will not
be coming this saturday. But then perhaps the weather will be better
on the 26th. Today is horrible, here. Cold and rainy. Let us hope t
the other weekend will be better. In any case, the 26th is a fine
date, as dates go. So I will be expecting you then, with the
broadside. “

I am glad the little book pleased Lexi and his friends. I sh
tkke care of requests if and when they reach me. The fuller and
more approved version in the big book is what they should use. Have

suddenly forgotten what I actually did about it.

rather Abbot approves your friend making some furniture for us
provided the price is reasonable. Could he for example give us
an estimate on how much it will costxhim us for him to copy
your table? we can judge from that. There are Splendid things
in the pine furniture book. I shall be wanting some of the stools,
and a desk. I think a big chest would be good: both as a seat and
as storage. my biggest difficulty is: what to have on the porch.
The usual sort of thing they put on porches is hideous. Perhaps
it would just be best to carry out chairs from inside. I will
want to know more about those people who make chairs back in the
hills.

I do hope it will not be too cold on the 26th.

Best wishes to you both, as ever, and blessings.

Cordially yours in Christ
