  ABOUT THE LIBRARIES O
{_ The Library has received official notice of award from the National »,.V
p Endowment for the*Humanities for the "Photographic Archives" project.‘m
y Work will be under the direction of Gerald Munoff.
i Reminder to Administrative Council Members
i Discussion leaders have volunteered for the spring semester agendas
I on staff utilization, the unexpected, and public and interdepartmental
{ relations. Members of the Administrative Council are needed to
? consider the following topics: People problems (March) and Communica-
tions (June).
Q Weather Watch
E When classes are not in session and the University closes (or delays
opening) the Library follows the University statement for University
j offices. If the University should close early or delay opening when
I classes are in session, the Library normally continues its regular
g schedule as an "essential service" with staff coverage as is maintained
I ‘ in public service units on nights and weekends (i.e., usually student
I coverage). This is the same policy that was in effect last year.
* Instructional Resources Focus on Teaching Program
Workshops 5 through 8 will be in the AIDS Center, February 5-8. These
present an excellent opportunity, close to home, to keep abreast of
trends in the teaching field.
ABOUT THE LIBRARIAHS
Nancy Baker, attendant at the ACRL first national conference, was
V quoted in American Libraries as preferring this meeting to ALA's
annual. .
» Janet Stith, Vice President of the Kentucky Chapter of Special Libraries
Association, is representing the chapter at the Midwinter meeting in
Tucson, Arizona, February 1-3.

l979 Automobile License Plates
A If you bought a new car in 1978, or will buy one in 1979, you will
renew your license in the month of purchase. Check the sticker near
the center of the license plate. For cars purchased before 1978, the
[ deadline is still February 28.
Winter Weather
If you can’t avoid it, dress for it. The Kentucky Department of Human
Resources, Bureau for Health Services, issued a press release giving
10 rules to help prevent frostbite, and suggested ways to treat frost-
bite injury. We had hoped not to have to mention cold weather.
