otete that the whiskey ana liquors lately founa in the possession
of one Bill Wyatt, at a time when said Wyatt was attempting to
carry same as personal baggage on one of the trains of the Lexington
e Eastern Railway Company, was purchased by saia Wyatt with money I
furnished by the unﬁetsignee anﬂ uton the understanding that saia
Hyatt would only purchase under said commission one gallon of Whiskey “
anu liquors fer his personal use, enﬁ that all of the whiekyy and
liquors tonne in the possession of eeie Wyatt ane detainee by of-
ficials of the Lexington e Eastern Railway Comnany belongs to the
unﬂersigncd and that he is entitlea to the possession thereof. The

‘ In connection with a passenger a few days ago attempting
to board one of our trains carrying as personal baggage more whis—
key than the law permits, Mr.B.T.Gosney, a merchant of Campton
Junction, says that he gave Bill Wyatt the money with which to
Vbuy this whiskey, with the understanding that he would bring him
one gallon for his personal use, and that he now desires to get
this whiskey, which was left on the train and is now in our pos—
session, and return the same to the saloon furnishing it and get
back the purchase price thereof.

I have not considered the recent act of the Leg—
islature on this subject, but this morning I have gone over -
the correspondence in our file on the subject, and have read
the provisiOns of Supplement No. 20 to L. & N. Tariff, G. F.

0., No. 2020, which supplement was prepared under the advice
of Colonel Stone.
