THE UNIVERSITY AND INEL,/§\-TION
Inflation is hurting the pocketbook of the University of Kentucky, causing
loss of competitive strength in obtaining personnel and difficulty in I
` financing programs, Dr. Singletary said in testimony before a legislative
subcommittee in Frankfort last week.
He traced the social, political, and economic climates of the post-Sputnik
50's, the turbulent 60's and early 70's that have cost the "darling" status
of higher education.

of the White House Conference, Vivian Hall, official delegate, will be
most happy to present them for consideration to the body. As noted before,
Mr. Willis is another official who is eager for ideas from the community
at large as well as from the University and Library people.
