SENATE NQIEQ
I On March 2l, the University Senate convened at the Law School.
It was announced during the meeting that:
l. The campus-wide retirement dinner will be held April 4.
2. Pre-registration will be held on the dates announced in
the official university calander, April ll-20.
3. Ad hoc committees have been formed to study the numbering
of 400- and 500—level courses and to study academic ethics
(cheating).
4. The decision to establish a master's degree program in
Planning has been postponed.
The most heated debate occurred in connections with proposed
changes in the University Withdrawal Policy. A procedure was
finally adopted that a student may withdraw from a course
during the first quarter of a term with no record of enroll-
ment appearing on the student‘s transcripts. Thereafter, a
student may withdraw only upon petition and only after securing
the approval of his/her advisor, instructor, and dean.
