third examination which was granted.
Ihe following report from a Special committee appointed by the Council

00mposed of President chey and the negistrar was aaOpteo:

1/

1. ”That the senate be authorised to confer an honorary degree,
nonoris Cause, upon students who have entered the army or navy
service of the United states at the end of their junior year or
during their senior year. Ibis degree differs irom the regular
bachelor degree in that it is a recognition 0: services to our
Country in time of need.

2. students who have completed all of their work up to the mid—
dle of the second semester in the senior year and who have been
called to the service of their Country, will be granted a bache—
lor’s degree on the basis of the completed course of study. An
exception is made to this arrangement in case 0: students who are
condidates for professional degrees. It is felt by the members

of the senate that students who are candidates for professional
degrees should complete the work on account or the standards and
requirements of professional training.
