tell you all we know about on-line cataloging in a few brief minutes!
We'll know a lot more and be able to conduct better demonstrations
after the training workshop to be conducted next week.

SQIIRET LRAXNLNG WORKSHOP
Ms. Michele Dalehite of the SOLINET Office in Atlanta will be here
on June 3 and 4 to conduct a terminal training workship. SOLINET
requests that the workshop attendance be limited to core staff who
will be operating the terminals most frequently. Participants in A
the workshop will be:
Gail Kennedy, Lynn Shrewsbury, Marilyn Seiler, Marsha Britton, Libby
Giles, Rita Tongate, Tom Sibley and Margie Palmer, all of the Solinet
Unit; Bess Clotfelter, Cataloging; Bernie Baldini, Med. Center; Becky
Heath, Agriculture; Ellen Mawhinney, Law.
These people will in turn conduct workshops and demonstrations for
the rest of the library staff in the near future. Staff members who
have questions pertaining to SOLINET, the terminals, their capabili-
ties, etc. should submit them to Gail Kennedy before Tuesday, June 3. T
Hopefully, all of our questions can be answered during the workshop.
APPLEGATE REPQR]
A report done by Howard L. Applegate on "Some Current Problems in
Governance, Management and Decisionmaking in the Academic Libraries
of the State University of Tidewater System in l972" is on file in
the Director's Office. U.K. Libraries is one of l6 library systems
which were visited and interviewed for this report. Some of the staff
will remember Mr. Applegate who was here in 1972. As a consultant
with a grant from the Council on Library Resources, he interviewed
various staff members for background information for his report and
recommendations. Anyone interested in reading the final report may
see Pat Lloyd in the Director's Office.

Mrs. Ellen E. Mawhinney will be joining the staff of the Law Library
on June 2 as Technical Services Librarian. Mrs. Mawhinney graduated
from State University of New York at Brockport with a B.S. in English ·
and Psychology. She received her MLS from Syracuse University.
