 Written on 24 April 2020

The story begins on March the 5th. The virus is now in
Kentucky.

March 24th was the last day I went to work. I was so worried and
nervous since the virus came. It was a great relief when I got
laid off on the 26th. I was really scared then.

The following Monday I filed for un-employment. I am so glad I
didn’t waste time doing it. Those who delayed had lots of trouble
with the system. It went through ok.

Next the Federal Govt. issued stimulus money to most.
I was fortunate that I have always used Direct Deposit, so it
came fast.

With lots of free time I began to spend more time in prayer and
Devotional reading.

April comes and the weather record breaking cold, no end in
sight as of today.

What a day when I went to my local Kroger and found toilet
paper! Angel Soft 12 pack.

On a recent trip to Walgreens I was Lucky to get a gallon of
Clorox, limit one per customer.

It is amazing that these ordinary things would be( am: 5 )
precious.

Through trial and error, I can create home-made face masks.

These are made from folded bandanas, elastic hair ties and a
paper coffee filter cut in half. The hair ties hurt my ears lots.

I had to go to Kroger today, They have plastic face shields for
$7.00 I didn’t like them because too much air can enter in from
the sides.

Hand washing is the new Great American past time, sadly
replacing Sports.

I’ve been a U.K. fan all my life.

I inherited this from Mom and Dad. We listened Basketball
games broadcast from the Hazard radio station.

When rumors that 2020 March Madness being cancelled, I said
no way, that’s crazy! But it happened.

No NCAA hoops, nope not this year.

I was so sad. I had listened to or watched U.K. games all
season. It was awful for the fans but So much worse for the
players, coaches and college students.

While writing this draft, the channel 27 weather from Chris
Bailey says rain all weekend. Horrible Month.

I have antenna TV, wi-fi and Netflix.

TV commercials consist of a ton of public service
announcements, trying to keep people up-lifted.

Every day at 5:00 PM our Governor Mr. Andy B. gives the
daily state up-date. There is also a sign language lesson.

I think he is doing the best he can and wants us to be well.

The NFL draft is on TV again. I’ve never watched it, but I look
for headlines as to how the U.K. players did.

Here is more about antenna TV.
I watch the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. The first to do
live TV from his home, I think.

I must say Jimmy Fallon’s two daughters can be quite
annoying. I think they are 3 and 5 years old.

It has given me a sample of what quarantine parenting must be
like. The parents are the teachers. If I had kids, they’d get real
bad grades. I wish good luck to parents and children, God Bless
you all with the (NTL) non-traditional learning.

I am eagerly awaiting warm Weather, same old thing never start
planting until after Derby day, which is this weekend on virtual
TV. #KYderbyathome.

The people who are experiencing the pandemic may tell
exaggerated tales to future generations.
People of my age group heard stories from our Elders.
Some examples follow:
0 I used to walk bare footed in the snow 5 miles to school
0 Cats will suck the baby’s breath away
0 Gas was 5 cents a gallon

With that having been said, perhaps these are some things that
will be told about this time in History.
0 Gas prices got under a dollar when we could not go anywhere
o I had to wear a mask just to grocery shop, when I got home,
I had to wash groceries, my shoes, doorknobs, you name it!
It all had to be washed again.

0 My parents had to be my teachers, that’s why I can’t do math

0 I made my own hand sanitizer, never learned how to make
toilet paper

0 I cut my own hair, I did not shave my legs much, it wasn’t
pretty, no not pretty

When I got a near death injury, I cured myself with peroxide,
duct tape and super glue

I watched Netflix, then I watched Netflix, then I watched
Netflix, then I watched Netflix.

This is the conclusion to my Historical archive.
