STATE TEXTB‘OOK COMMISSION OF KENTUCKY
1935-40

This Bulletin contains the multiple list of textbooks adopted
on February 13 and lI’Iareh 1, 1935, by the State Textbook Commis-
sion as authorized in Sections 4421a-38 and 39, Kentucky Statutes.
Any new adoptions made by boards of education embracing cities of
the first four classes and county school districts maintaining a
school term of at least nine months must be made from this multiple
list. Furthermore, it must be borne in mind that not over 331/3 per
V cent of the textbooks now in use may be changed in each of these
districts.

Boards of education of independent districts embracing cities
of the first four classes and county districts maintaining a school
. term of at least nine months may adopt a basal text or a complete
series of basal texts from the uniform list of books starred (5*)
herein.

A star (*3) preceding any book indicates a basal. book adopted
by the State Textbook Commission for use in county school districts
and independent school districts other than those maintaining and
operating public elementary and public high schools for at least a
nine-months’ term and those em‘bracing cities of the first four
Classes. Boards of education having authority to select from this
approved list and to adopt one basal text for each subject and grade
are required, under statute, to make such selection and adoption not
later than May 1, 19515. . Selections thus made are to be adopted for
a period etn‘w years. ’ '
