Tin; facilities and economies offered by this agency
to book buyers in America include :—

Prom texecution of orders. All books are de-
spatche by early mail or steamer.

New Books are charged at trade prices, which
are usually twenty-five per cent off the price of
publication. Second-hand books are charged at
lowest nett prices.

Commission ten per cent on trade and nett ii'ices,

Book postage to America is only one hal penny
for every two ounces up to four pounds weight.

Small parcels of books may be consigned to agents
in NewYork, B oston,or Philadelphia,who will charge
the proportion of freight and expenses on each pack-
age, thus effecting a considerable saving. Larger
slii ments are consigned :is the buyer instructs.

’Fhe discount off publication price is about equi-
valent to the cost of freight or postage and commis-
sion ; hence in making purchases of new books
it is safe to estimate that the books would be
received at a cost of 25 cents to the shilling
(publication price) exclusive of duty, if any.

Priced lists of current publications, with pub-
lishers' announcements and literary notices, are
printed in the Publishers Circular, issued fort-
nightly, and in the Bookseller, monthly. Special at-
tention is paid to forwarding catalogues ofpublis hers
and booksellers, English and Continental.

Superior Library Binding can be done in half
levant morocco in a few days, and costs about fifty
per cent less than in the United States.

The United States duty of twenty-five per cent ,

is taxed on the nett rices of books printed within
twenty years. All oliier books are duty free.

. Public Libraries, Colleges, Academies, and other
incorporated institutions are entitled to make all
their importations free of duty.

Engravings, Drawings and Paintings, Philoso-
phical Apparatus and Scientific Instruments, and
all other wants of libraries receive due attention.

This being a. strictly ready-money commission
busmess, it is necessary that orders should be
accompanied by funds, and that current accounts
should be kept well covered.
