Wherever used is regarded as a necessity. By a few turns
of the handle the ice is reduced to a mass of clean, dry
crystals of similar size and shape.

Ice is an antiseptic; it arrests decay and kills the
germs of disease ; its free use is advised by best physicians ;
is a prompt and effective remedy in all fevers, throat affec—
tions and hemorrhages.

Delicious beverages, ices and creams are prepared;
salads, vegetables and relishes are rendered crisp and re-
freshing by the use of crushed ice.

SCHOOL PROPERTY

v #077 o< ’ p.

SELLING AND RENTING School Property is one of our specialties. Our facil-
ities for disposing of it are unsurpassed. Several years' experience in the busi-
ness has made us thoroughly acquainted with the market. \Ve keep a list of
inquirers for such property. Those having it to dispose of should send a
description of it, and state the PRICE or RENTAL asked.

Our TERMS for Selling are Five per cent. on $5000 or less, and Two and
one-half per cent. on the excess; for Renting, Five per cent. on one year’s
rental, and when a lease covers more than one year, Two and one-half per cent.
on each additional year.

THOSE DESIRING TO HIRE OR PURCHASE will please describe
their wants as definitely as practicable, and state how large an investment they
will make. We will endeavor to offer Properties to suit them. We have a
large variety on hand, and there are always some good opportunities.

American School Bureau, R. E. AVERY, MANAGER,
2 West 14th Street, New York.

 THE AMERIBAN scHudf‘BUiEAU; '

During the past year, has located teachers from Maine to Oregon and from
Minnesota to Texas, in all kinds of schools, public and private. from the Kin-
dergarten to the University, for all kinds of instruction and official responsi-
bility. Our work is frozxitz’z'ng teachers will; sm'ta/J/c positions, and this occupies the
full time of the manager and his assistants. Tangible proof of our success is
given in the fact that we make our compensation depend entirely on results,
while others find it necessary to get a large revenue from advance fees. We
offer as many positions, of as high character and value, use as effective methods
in representing our members, and aftord them as good advantages in every
reSpect, except for spending money. as any agency which charges two dollars.
more or less, for registration. \Ve do not promise positions: no honest agent
does. We do not discuss the “ prospects ” of individuals, because what teachers
will be successful is a matter of so much uncertainty that conjectures about it
usually have little or no value, and we can do more for our members and our-
selves by pushing our work, than by wasting time in guessing. The prospects
of teachers who are wart/1y and efia‘eu! (others need not expect attention), will
be as good here as in an‘,r agency. We shall continue business with enlarged
plans and facilities. No Teachers’ Agency in the United States will be in posi-
tion to render better service, and since we can not enjoy our leisure and grow
rich on registration fees, but must get our whole income from commissions
earned, there will be no doubt of our activity in finding and filling vacancies.

THE AMERICAN SCHOOL BUREAU

—REPRESENTS THE—

LARGEST 63: MOST SELECT

Body of Teachers to be found in any
Agency in the United States.

This is the result of FREE REGISTRATION.
Which secures an awnple supply of the BEST TEACHERS,

and leaves no need or inducement to represent those who are
not suitable. \Ve have declined hundreds duringr the past
year, many of whom are known to have found ready admis-
sion to other agencies, for a fee of two dollars, more or less.
Our terms attract all, the good teachers we need, and our
interests require that we should give our attention to them
only, because with them we can give better satisfaction to
our patrons, fill more vacancies, and earn more commissions,
which are our only source of revenue. Receiving no
advance fees, we are under no obligation. None have pur-
chased the right to besiege us with importunity, or to sub—
ject us to pressure of any kind. \Ve are perfectly at liberty
to make our selections solely on the ground of fitness, and
free registration has brought us the best supply in America,
from which to select.

THE SUPERIORITY of this plan to serve the best
interests of education is self-evident. It commands the
approval of all but those who are interested in collecting
registration fees. and the cause of their criticism is apparent.

The Hektograpli, Electric Pen, Papyrograph,

And. all other Copying Processes.

E can refer to over 3,000 firms and corporations who have discontinued
W using one of the above mentioned processes, and who now use noth-
ing but the Cyclostyle. The Cyclostyle has been established for

over three years in England, and has driven all rivals out of the market.
The violet or purple color of the Hektograph and Papyrograph is now
so well-known, that everyone receiving a circular copied by these‘ processes,
immediately recognizes it as a circular—whereas a Circular copied by the
Cyclostyle is in black ink, and has all the appearance of a letter written
with a stylographic pen. _

WILLIAM A. CAMP, Manager.

Royal Insurance Oflice, 50'Wall St., New York, July I, 1885.
'e have had one of your larger Cyclostyles in almost constant use in this office during
the past three months, and have found it to be superior, both in simplicity and character of
work done, to any other methods of copying that we have ever tried.
WM. M. HENSHAW, Ass’t Manager Royal Insurance Co.

We have used your Cyclostyle considerably during the past two months; and find it gives

We have used the Cyclostyle for three months for purposes of manifolding our financial

' LAWSON, DOUGLAS & CO.,

ter a thorough trial of your machine we have found it in every way as you represented it.

' ARTHUR L. BATES, Secretary pro term.

I have used many duplicating processes, but yours is the most perfect, practical, rapid,
simple, easy process I ever saw. You ought to sell one to every insurance agent in the land
to use in making policy forms, etc. (Signed)

W. P. LUCAS, Insurance Agency. Oil City, Penn.

We have used two of your Cyclostyles for some weeks, and find they work to our entire
satisfaction. (Signed) HOWARD W. SPURR & CO.,
