My dear Dr Patterson:-
I have let your letter go unanswered
- for a long time, for various reasons.I was much interested in
what you suggested to me,and nothing would pleasC me better
if it could be brought about.I thought something else was
about to happen, but it didnt,so I waited.Don€ you know that
. in this part of the world noone gives any money right away?
The prOSpects are just as good as his;it is amtter that wil
be left entirely to hhe parties concerned.Mrs Brown and Eula
went to Chicago yesterday, and will he at the Hyde Park
Hotel for a month or more, thence they go East.Where is the
redoubtable William going this Summer?"Verb sap".
Cant you cpme out West and pay me a little visit.I would be
glad to have you.We do not have any summer vacation so will
have to wilt away.I expect to go to Chicago in August to the
meeting of the Chemists. The Legislature gave me some money
to build a new Chemical Laboratory with, and I fell big.We hav
had a good many changes in our t eaching corps. It seems to
Je that men change around more here than the do further
East.0ur Electrical man left us to be chief designer for the
Perret people. They all do well.I see you have some Jerseys
at the Fair and that they are doing well "More power to them“
What has become of Joe Kastle?I like him and hopw he is
doing well.I guess Alfred is the same as ever,Did I hear
that he was a happy father?I hope that Mrs Patterson and all
your famoly are in good health and all happy as I am.With
the best of good wishes
1am, Yours ever,
