My dear Judge Wilson:

A friend and a very interested and faithful Democrat
has, without my solicitation, offered us a gift of One
Hundred Dollars, on condition that we secure at least eight
Fifty Dohlar gifts to aid in financing our Democratic Journal.

When you spoke fyggtgg Henry County Club I remember
you said you would make a g t f Fifty Dollars on the same
terms, and suggested we appeaI1to the defeated Congressmen.

As they contributed in the bgginning, I felt I could not make
another personal appeal; but two similar suggestions have been
made I feel it my duty as President of the State Club to fol—
low these timely suggestions made by two representative men,
so today I am writing to them and a few other Democrats.

If you feel that the Journal is worthy, fills a
need and will in time serve the purpose for which it was launch-
ed, we will be very grateful for your assistance.

None of the Journal Committee, or of the Club or-
ganization, receives a penny for their labor; but on the other
hand I know that several have not only worked unceasingly and
untireingly, but have been generous contributors.

Please let me hear from you at your earliest con-
venience. I anxsending copies of the Journal under separate
cover.
