Transfer Houses, Parts Depots and Works will be closed in recognition of
Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, l947, and New Year's Day, Thursday,
January l, 1948, as legal holidays.
The General Office will also be closed on Friday, December 26.
Therefore, on Wednesday, December 24, all departments in the General Office are
expected to continue until the regular quitting time at 4:45 p.m.
The manufacturing plants, subject to the approval of the Division
, Manager of Manufacturing, are authorized to shut down on Wednesday, December 24,
or on Friday, December 26, l947, provided that where there is a recognized
labor union there must be an agreement reached covering any closing on either
one of these two days. Such agreement may provide for any one but not more or
the following arrangements:
l. Close down on the second and third shifts on Wednesday,
December 24, provided normal operations are scheduled
for Friday, December 26, or
2. Close down on Friday, December 26, provided normal I
operations are scheduled for Wednesday, December 24, or {
5. Close down on third shift Wednesday, December 24, l947, 5
provided normal operations are scheduled for the first
shift and all or part of the second shift Wednesday,
December 24, l947, and normal operations are scheduled
for the third shift Thursday, December 25 and normal
