A ON OF COAL — YEARS 191U AND 1929.
Dear Sir:
Will you please promptly prepare a comparative
labor cost per ton of Goal mined at No.1 Mine for the
years 19lN and 1929; this labor cost should be exclusive
of Chicago Office salaries.
In addition thereto, we desire to have the 19lU
labor cost revised so as to be comparative to 1929 on the
basis of labor rates in effect in 1929. It will, therefore,
be necessary for you to apply the 1929 labor rates to the
191U operations, and in this manner arrive at a result that
will show the increase or decrease in labor cost in the years
V under discussion.
It is requested that special effort be made to
submit these figures promptly.
Yours very truly,
WISCONSIN STEEL n•m·ANY.

Dear Sir; I _4I»A`I Q
- We have your letter of May the 5th furnishing A
part of the infomation which we have asked for on the
comparative labor cost of mining for the years 191*-I and S
1929.
We note that you say that the distribution
sheets and time sheets for the year 191*4 have been _
destroyed. We are wondering if you could not compile
this infomation from journal vouchers for the year ·
191Lé and also the pay roll sheets for that year. It
would seem that the necessary infomation would show
E on these records which would enable you to work up the `
' infomation requested. —
I If you can do this, please prepare same promptly
` and forward it to us so that we may proceed with the com-
pletion of the information which we are compiling. _
Yours very truly,
WISCONSIN STEEL COMPANY.
