The faculty met in Special session on Monday, June llth.
at llsfifi, Professor Anderson presiding.

At the request of the chairman, Professor Grehan, Seem
rotary of the Board of Trustees, read the following report which

‘i\ was received and filed;

”That the chairman of the Board of Trustees
be authorized and directed to immediately appoint . ‘
a General Committee consisting of four members of ?
the Board and three of the University faculty, to
nominate to the Board a new President, with inetruc*
tione to consider such professional qualifications ‘
as gave been given in the Survey Commiseion‘s Rea ‘
port, faculty members of this joint committee to
include one representative of each of the three
larger colleges of the University, 1.9., that ion
Liberal Arts and Sciences Engineering and Agricul~
ture, and that the three be nominated to the Board
by the Faculty, this voting by ballot at a meeting
called for that purpose. It is desirable that this
Committee shaould make a definite recommendation
on or before September 15, 1917."

The following method of procedure offered by Dr.
Tuttle was adopted;
"To outline the work on this occasion, I move a
le That each school or division be taken
separately. .

2. That a secret ballot be taken and that the
three candidates in each of the three schools or
divisions having the highest votes be the nominees
for the committee for selection of the President.

3. That secret balloting on the three nomis
noes in each division be continued and that after
each ballot” the nominee having the lowest vote be
eliminated, balloting to continue until the selec~
tion is madee”

In order to comply with the resolution adopted by
the Board of Trustees in the selection of three members of g
the faculty to serve on the Committee to recommend for the i
consideration of the Board of Trustees a satisfactory, avail«

able man to serve as President of the Universitya the fole

lowing men were selected:

Paul Prentice Boyd, College of Arts & Science
George Roberts, College of Agriculture

Wm. Edwin Freeman, College of Engineering
