In the absence of Dean Martin Mr. Donald S. Whitehousea President of the
Student Government Association, presentefi the following recommenfiation for a
change in the Constitution of the association, Article V, Section 4, which was
approved by the Faculty.

There shall be a committee on Student Publications to be composed
of the following members of the University staff find ttrrz students.
The members of the University staff shall include the Firector 01 the

School of JournaliSm, the University Vice President, Business Munrgement,
and the Director of Student ?ublications. The.student members shall in-
clude the editor of the Kernel, the editor of the Kentuckien, and one
additionel member of the ASSombly. This 00mmittee shall set u? qualifica-
tions for and select the salaried members of the editorial and business
staffs of all student publications. The aprointment of the editor-of
either the Kernel or the Kentuckian shall, however, be subject to aphroval
by the President of the Universit . Any student member who is a-candidate
for any position to be filled by the committee shall disqualify himself as
a member of the committee while th aprointment in question is under
consifieration.
