The Faculty of the University met in special session April
8, 1915, President Barker presiding, with the following members
present:-

President Barker, Professors Allen, Bohannon, Boyd, Baker,
Dantzler, Davis, Freeman, German, Gillie, Grehen, Hooper, Jones,
Killebrew, Kinney, Mathews, Melcher, Miller, Noe, Peter, Fryer,
Rees, Rhoads, D. Terrell, Tigert, Tuthill, Tuttle, Weaver, Zem-
brod, miss Hamilton, Miss Sweeny, Judge Lafferty, Dr. Pryor, Dr.
G. ‘errell, Lieut. Underwood, Prof. Farquhar.

Special session of the Faculty was called in the interest
of Home Economics. President Barker askei Miss Sweeny to state
the nrpose of the meeting. Miss Sweeny stated that the Govern-
ment had offered employment to the following girls for the month

of June:-

Mery Burrier, Lois Bartlett, Julia Van Arsdale, Katherine
Mitchell, Katheleen Sullivan, Linda Purnell, Johnie Crumer,
Elizabeth Moore, Elizabeth Farra.
In order to accept the positions, it will be necessary for them
to gettheir examinations a few days early. She therefore, re—
quested the permission of the Faculty to give special examinations
to these girls. On motion of Dr. Terrill, seconded by Prof. Milo
ler, it was voted to grant the special examinations and the sched-
ule of examinations to be arranged by the Schedule Committee.
Profg Miller asked special permission to introduce a motion
in reference to granting honorary degrees, which was granted.
The following motion was offered by Prof. Miller and adapted:
”Resolved that all recommendations for honorary degreeedv
be presented to the Faculty at our next regular meeting in
May and thereafter on or before the regular meeting in April."

There being no further business, meeting adjourned.
