Chancellor search nearing end

.1\ L'K search committee is one step closer to finde
ing a replacement for Chancellor for the Lexington
Campus Robert Hemenway.

Last week, UK President Charles \Vetbington,
chairman of the committee, said he expects the
group to have narrowed down the tiuiiiber of candi-
dates to an “interviewable” number by its next meet—
ing on April 11.

After the final candidates are selected, they will be
invited to UK to be interviewed by the committee
and possibly meet with different groups of the Lni—
versity community.

I he committee has been compiling 11 list of appli—
cants and nominees for about three months.
