A number of suggestions have been made in the past by library staff ·
members concerning the desirability of a library council. I have asked
Ellen Baxter to head a committee to make recommendations to me concern-
ing the application of the President's memorandum - or some variation
of a council - to the University Libraries.
I would like to ask the following staff members to serve on this Com-
mittee with Ellen Baxter serving as the Chairperson: `
l. Jennifer Coffman
2. Elizabeth Howard
3. Lorraine Noel
4. Dean Trivette
5. Terry Warth
I will plan to attend the first meeting which Ellen calls so that I
can respond to questions from the Committee members. Please direct
any suggestions which you may have concerning a library council to
Ellen Baxter.
