Percy writes his "dear Momma" and tells her

all about his affairs. He asks her to send

a set of Shelley's works, for he wants his
friend Julian to have either the prose or

poety, according to his own choice. A jejune
and immature letter, showing clearly how closely
Mary had bound her son to herslei' and to the
canonized image of his father. Percy took his
Cambridge degree/ in the following year.

My dear Mamma I came safe, and very comi‘y with

the overalls, I did not write that night because
the post did not go, and did not write after
because that delay begot others. I see by the
paper that Mr. Hunt's play is accepted, and am
very much rejoicedyremember to tell me if it is
acted before the Vacation, if so I shall come up to
go in the pit, which is it ?

Remember to send me two works of my father's
directly you can, do not delay it, two of each - I want
to giVe Julian one, either poems or prose which he
likes - but send both. I forgot the watch, and

have missed Chapel twice, though not through that,
when you write, pray send me my largest black book,
for I mmmiserably in want of a writing book,

if ever you see any writings of mine about, pray burn
them, but not any in the black book which do not

look into - you need not send these things to me
before the forthcoming editions, Any events enlivening
your existence yet or no ? Tell me all, how's the
Nino. I am regulating with Julian‘s assistance my
mpnies.I am comfortable enough. I.was bigoted 8c
prejudiced with Nicholle this morning about flute
playing although he paid me great compliments

about my time and taste in playing. I hate played

15 & owe 15 more, I have got 15 left ten of which
I'll pay away, and get on scantily but steadily
through the term - Deffell in his first ["item"
cancelled] year spent 375£ althnught with smaller
lodgings than me and no Nicholle. I did not spend so
much I think, he affected to give me a lecture about
oikoromia; on mangement, but when he confessed this
I laughted - goodbye, write, I will be more frequent
after the first - goodbye remember me to the two at
Layton House
