He cannot find his notes on the subject about Which his correspondent has inquired, but suggests several sources which Should be consulted, including one Baconian reference. Speeding made a career out of Bacon and Bacon's writings. At Cambridge, he was intimate with. Tennyson, Fitzgerald, and Thackeray; Tennyson called him "the wisest man I know.“ My dear Sir We I am sorry that I cannot find-an5-notes of the Com. of Union Ms. and I am going out of town for the week, so cannot refer again to the original. I do not think you will find in it anything bearing upon the point in question. As far as I remember it contained mama of the resolutions, but not of the discussions.
