My dear Hr Poblneon

I beg to thank you sincerely for your most

kind letter. The fact is that I have but a very few days to Spend
in New York before my departure, from the last day of this month
to the 6th of November & of these days I am unwilling to dispose
except with the concurrence of my kind friend & host, Mr Cyrus
Field. Two days, I fear, are pre-empted, a breakfaet at the Cen—
tury Club on the let & at a clerical sitting on the 2nd. Any 0-
ther arrangement that Mr Field may think possible is open to me,
provided that it leaves me out in the daylight to see the wonders

of New York,
