section false xt7qjq0stw34_4006 xt7qjq0stw34 ms MAJESTY’S THEATRE. February 14th 1903 The Editor of "The Sunday Special" Dear Sir On Tuesday eveninngill be given here the first performance of the new play "Resurrection", and as usual I am reserving a place for a representative of your paper. I feel, however, most reluctantly compelled to make one condition, and that is, that the seat in question shall not be occupied by Mr J.T.Grein. I have had occasion before to object to the manner in which.this gentleman deals with this theatre and the work done inside it, and while not complaining for one moment of anything in the shape of criticism - however unfavourable - I do object to misrepresentations of fact calculated to give the readers of your journal a false and.misleading impression as to the performances here. When I find - as I did on the last occasion of Mr Grein's visit - that he misrepresented both the story of the play and.the reasons for putting the play upon the stage, I do not feel inclined to lend that gentleman any I facility for repeating the slanders that have only too frequently characterised his fonner notices. 0n hearing from you I will cause a voucher to be forwarded. ours truly , “£4 //‘——
