Amusing note in which Coleridge speaks of himself
as a Devonshire man and thanks his correspondent for
sending a copy of a Debate in The Times. fie had evident-
ly wanted a copy of a different debate, "the Attack on
the Lord Chancellor in last Tuesday's Paper in which
out of 250 members that were in the House 110 voted
for something like bringing the Chancellor to the Bar
of the House for Breach of Privilege, and in no ob~
scure terms calling Mr. Abercrombie a Liar."

The reference may Egzto Lord Eldon, who was Lord
Chancellor from 1801 to lBGéLand associated with Pitt;
