All lovers of Charles Dickens and his immortal
works will, I am sure, be greatly interested in the
portrait which appears above, for it is that of Mrs.
Cooper, the original of Little Dorrit. The charming
old lady who, as will be seen from her signature above,
is in her ninety-fourth year, lives at Southg'ate, and
not at Ealing, as has been stated by sundry of my
’steemed contemporaries. The portrait, for which I
am indebted to Mr. W. Atwood, famous alike for his
piano-playing and his photography, was taken by him
a few months ago.
