The possibility of the Library applying for an NEH grant to become a
newspaper depository for the State of Kentucky was discussed. The
State Libraryis also looking into it and has a member on its staff ‘
qualified to head it. The State Library will defer to us if we want to
apply and that staff menber will come to the University of Kentucky. ;
The problem is that we have to pay him between now and July lst. Paul
Willis discussed this with Dr. Sands and he said he would see what could
. be done. ,
The English Department approached Paul Willis about setting aside a 4
folklore collection in Special Collection. Paul Willis is to meet with i
them on the matter.
There is time on the prime computer for instruction if any of the faculty i
members would like to take advantage of it. Reference is going to do a
library instruction package and if anyone else has projects to be done I
Mike lach needs to know soon so he can pass it on to the Computing Center.
The Staff Development Corrmittee is exploring the feasibility of Marsha
` Green coming into the Library to do some staff development programs.
