I FROM LSO.
I Believe it or not, LSO's Anything Sale (12 October 1981) made more
I than $100 for the Christmas buffet. Several members baked, knitted, I
g » crocheted, sewed and donated many beautiful and unusual items; many more
I patronized the sale. Thanks to all members for their support. Special
I thanks to Vivian MacQuown for her beautiful granny-square afghan, which
’ · sold for $25.
E The drawing for the item from DOMES ANTIQUES (a hand-painted bread
; Plate) W&S held at 1:10 p.m. and the happy winner was Emily Lihani,
I Special Collections. -
I If you missed today's bazaar, you may have another chance to be a
I part of the excitement. Cathy Hunt, Music Library, has graciously
I volunteered to coordinate a Christmas bazaar, if she can receive any
indication of interest. So if you would~ like to make something
I pertaining to the Christmas season (ornaments, crafts, _baked goods,·,
I ` etc.), while at the" same time help LSO, pplease let Cathy know by
E November 2nd. Due to Cathy's busy schedule the projected date for the
I sale has not yet been set.
I FROM UNITED wAY . ~
E The 1981 United Way Goal for the Library was $3,900 which was an 11
Q percent increase over.l980. To date we have taken in $4,351 which is a
I 20 percent increase. The generosity of the Library Staff never ceases
I to amaze me. Since 1971, we have increased our giving by 60 percent.
| On October 21, at 9:30 a.m. in the Solarium, King North, we will
I have our annual appreciation Coffee. Special thanks go to my acting
, Coordinator, Michele Parks, who did most of my work this year and to my
I Ifaithful and hardworking Solicitors: Bess Clotfelter, Brad Grissom,
I 4 Peggy Lewii, Claire McCann, Lynn Shrewsbury, Ruth Vaughan, Ron Weber,
