On January l0, both Assemblies will have a music program. On the
2hth, the Senior Assembly will see the film, ”Tevye", and the Junior
Assembly, another of the Magic Door Series.

There will be a Family Worship Service for the Junior Assembly,
conducted by the Fifth Grade on January 17th.

 

The Bible passage for January 10 is Amos 727-9 and we shall discuss
how groups of people are Judged as righteous and that Judaism is con~
cerned not Just for individual behavior but group behavior also.

community service in action.
Council's "actresses" perform at
the elementary schools in the inner
city, at the public library and in
our local hospitals. Our guests

the superintendent of the Fayette
County Schools and Mrs. Brewer,
head of Elementary Instruction.

Adath Israel. Dr. Daniel Tnursz,
dean of the School of Social Work
and Community Planning at the Uni—
versity of Maryland, will be the
speaker and his subject will be
"Revolution on the Campus, the Jew
and His Mission. "

Also scheduled for the series
are Dr. Abraham Heschel, professor
of Jewish Ethics and Mysticism at
the Jewish Theological Seminary of
America, who will be the second
speaker on February 7 at 8:00 P.M.
at Ohavay Zion Synagogue. And on
February 28, we shall hear Mrs.
Israel Naamani, a talented musician
from Louisville, who will present
a musical program (one for children
at 2:30 P.M. and one for adults at

8:00 P.M.) at Ohavay Zion Synagogue.

Our fourth and last program
will be a film to be shown at
8:00 P.M. in the Temple Vestry en—
titled ”The Shop on Main Street"
which deals with a Jewish shop-
keeper in Czechoslavakia during the
Nazi rule of that country.

cataract lens and soft glasses cases For new eyes ‘or the needy.
They will reship them to people in need allvoyer'the’worldi’ Tiey will
also accept old watches, real or costume jewelry, silverware or any
precious metal scrap. The scrap is sold to a refinery, the redeemed
cash is used to purchase new classes.
