` Music in the Gallery - additional note:
, The Rumpelstiltskin preview, scheduled for noon on Friday,
I4 January, will be conducted by Phyllis Jenness, musical
director of the opera. Also appearing on the program will
be the opera's composer, Joseph Baber, of the UK School of
Music, and John Gardner, a nationally-known author who
wrote the opera's book. Gardner is on the faculty of
Bennington (Vt.) College, and is the author of Grendel
and October Light.°

The Computing Center will offer a non—credit introductory
course on the FORTRAN programming language February 8
V _‘ through February 24 for students, faculty, and staff mem-
= bers. No prerequisites exist, and there is no fee.
However, preregistration is necessary. Conscientious students
should be able to program simple numerical problems after
completing the course.
A Computing Center staff member will teach the course.
The sessions will be held from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on
February 8,l0, l5, l7, 22, and 24 in room 129, Mcvey Hall.
