Origin: circa 1412-1447, Milan, Lombardy, Italy Decoration: Decorated throughout with initials illuminated with red work around blue letters, or purple scroll work around gold letters. Three-line illuminated initials with modest foliation in border, five-line K for beginning of Litany (fol. 33v). Two seven-line inhabited initials with St. Augustine and David. Penwork marginal faces from ascenders and descenders appearing on fol. 82v, continuing through end of work. Provenance: Notably owned by Filippo Maria Visconti, Duke of Milan and Count of Pavia (1412-1447). Location unknown until posession by Philip Sang who donated it to the Library on August 8, 1961.
