UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY
OFFICE OF PRESIDENT
One step in the [ar-reaching master plan to bring national football recognition to thc Liniversity ol Kentucky
is the necessity of increasing the patronage at the gridiron events to such an extent that niajor teams of the coun-
try may be profitably brought to Lexington as the foes of the Yiiildeats.
_ Full achievement of this goal was brought one step nearer to reality this year with the aid ot` the Lexington
Salcsnieifs Club. This public-spirited organization oi` business nien, at the request of bnivcrsity authorities, un-
dertook the task of proinoting the sale of season tickets throughout Eastern and Central Kentucky and it was
tremendously successful in its efforts to fill the newIy—enlargcd stadium.
Wlhile not all of the 35,000 available seats were sold on a season basis. the incmbers of the Lexington Sales-
Ill(?l`l’S Club deserve the sincere thanks of the University of Kentucky for their splendid co-operation in selling a
major portion of the season tickets. It is only through the voluntary public service of such noteworthy civic organ-
izations that citizens of this great state will be able to witness football of a type that will bring credit to the State
and University.
The University of Kentucky Athletics Association thanks the Lexington Salcsnien`s Club.
II. L. DONOVAN
