Dear Freddie: V
I had not seen the papers for several
‘ days and did not know about your election to the presidency
of the A. M. A. until I received a note from Maude yesterday »
about it. I want to extend congratulations for a well-
deserved honor. You certainly have done more than your
part in both organizational and scientific work.
Last night I happened to have as a
patient the little son of Dr. C. R. Carr, who is in the
navy and who came from near Mooresville and is related to
you. They are awfully nice folks--naturally!--and I am
glad to say that the baby seems very much better this morning.
He apparently has one of these laryngeal streptococcal in-
fections, which was thought to be a foreign body. Most of
these youngsters clear up following administration of Sulfa-
thiazole, and I am hoping that this will be the case with
young William.
Whenever you are in the vicinity of I
Richmond, please come in to see me. With kindest regards
and very best wishes, I am
Yours very sincerely,
