My dear Fred:
I was just down at Davidson Commencement last
week and was thinking about you. On my return
_ I found that one of our men, knowing my interest
‘ in Davidson College, had turned in the attached.
Myivery best congratulations to you, Fred. This
o is an honor ··- a very great honor ·- which falls
to a man who has made a big success in his pro-
fession. I always remember how nice you were to
me when I visited your clinic in Rochester.
At the Alumni Luncheon I sat next to Mr. Barnes,
a preacher, whom you probably remember as the
son of Mrs. Barnes who with her daughter ran the
boarding house almost opposite Dr. Henry Louis
Smith's house, which boarding house provided food
for the human animal at the rate of $7.50 per
month.
Ccrdia/_ yours,
A l " H. S. cha ___
