Dr- Fred Us Rankin,
Lexington, Ky- —
Dear Fred:
I think the American Medical Association did itself
proud by electing you to the job of President—elect· I have
just received last week*s issue of the Journal and I am not
very much impressed with the picture they have of you- It
doesn't do you justice - so I think perhaps you ought to have
another picture made because I don't want the boys to get the
» wrong impression of you; you are too fine a fellow for any-
thing like that-
It was awfully nice to see you and be with you-
Of course, getting you elected to the job was one of the easiest
things we ever had to do- As a matter of fact it was like playing
a bridge hand when you bid seven spades and have thirteen in your
A own hand — it was just that easy- I know of no one who deserves
the honor more than you-
`With my kindest regards and hest wishes, I beg to
remain `
Very cordially yours,
· .
