Dear Fred:-
. May I congratulate you on
g being elected president of the American
I Surgical Association. This is a very
t nice honor which you so greatly deserve.
The recent meeting is fresh in
my mind and there are one or two points
which I would like to make in the way of
suggestion. The papers were supposed to
g_ be limited to ten minutes but I think I
was the only one who finished in ten min-
utes. I think there should be a little
more time given to any one who has a sizea-
ble piece of work to present. I think the
old fifteen minute rule was better than ‘
the ten. The other suggestion would be to
cut time on people trying to deliver papers
when they are discussing someone else's work.
Dr. Gallie did not hold anyone to time and c c A
the meeting was out of balance a good bit of
the time. g
We had a fine meeting and I missed
your not being there.
Sincerely yours,
Q CSB/hp ` Claude S. Beck, M. D.
