p Dear Fred: C‘ t _ c y _ i ' “ ‘
he were disappointed not to be able to stayin Chicago long? enough to see you O .
at the College of Surgeons. We got out there on a Monday, and had to leave Friday
A mornin; before you got there for your inaugural address Friday evening. From what I
I hear it was fine, and we were veiy sorry to miss it. l —
We had been to Memphis previous to going to Chicago to see our twin grandchildren.
I Our youngest daughter in May had twins consisting of a boy and a girl, and of course
the grandparents had to go by and see `them. y I
A monthior two ago in Blowing Rock, I ran up with a doctor from Fentucky who told
that he had seen you not too long before that and that you were doing well. We
certainly were delighted to hear it, and hope that the improvement is continuing.
I I often think what a friend you were to me in the early days at Rochester, and
only wish there were something T could do to show you how much I do appreciate it.·
t Sincerely yours, e
