PLENTY OF READING MATTER—A total of 23,119 magazines, shown above, was donated as the result of a

short story in The Lexington Leader, asking housewives to contribute old magazines to the Fayette Coun-
ty WPA library project free circulating library. Three hundred more magazines have been received
since the picture was taken by The Leader photographer. Distribution of magazines has already been
made to the county infirmary, to three libraries at the reform school and to Eastern State hospital. Next

week, magazines will be distributed to all the colored communities. Mrs. Hammond Dugan is supervising
librarian. -
