annex collection (which includes Acquisitions, Catalogin9, Archives,
GPD, Newspaper/Microtext materials, etc.) consumed about three weeks.
John Bryant will be in touch with all departments who have annex
materials and will provide them with a map of the stack area on the
third floor, King North.

Tim Pasden of the Appalachian Education Satellite Project will give
a presentation on the use of the ERIC data base and its quarterly
updates in the Old Rare Book Room, Monday, July 15, at 9:00 a.m.
The Appalachian Education Satellite Project, funded through the
Appalachian Regional Commission by the National Institute of Education
for a duration of 2 l/2 years, is an experimental program designed to
improve and expand the delivery of training programs in elementary
reading and career education to Appalachian educators.
All interested staff are urged to attend the presentation. It is
suggested that each department and branch library (as well as Medical
Center, Law and Agriculture) be represented. The ERIC data base has
numerous multidisciplinary applications which should be utilized.
LISTEMING QENlER
The Music Listening Center, formerly under the jurisdiction of the
School of Music, is now being administered by the Music Library. The
Listening Center has a collection of around 5,000 records and fur-
nishes equipment for both listening and taping. Its primary services
are to the School of Music faculty and students in providing facil-
ities for required listening.
Catherine Oleksa operates the center, which is located on the second
floor of the Fine Arts Building directly above the Music Library.
Plans are being finalized to physically connect the center with the
Music Library in the near future.
