G. Card, Frank J. Cheek, Jr., Vincent Cowling, Betsy W. Estes, W. P. Garrigus,
Lyman V. Ginger, Wilbur A. Heinz, Wyatt M. Insko, O. T. Keppius, Abby L. Marlatm

M. Reed. Alberta W. Server, Doris M. Seward, Hill Shine, Jonah W. D. Skiles,
Earl P° Slone, Robert Straus‘, Lawrence S. Thompson‘, and William R. Willard.

The minutes of March 10 were read and approved after the following amend-
ments:

l° Following the report of President Dickey's statement in regard
to the report of the joint FacultyaBoard of Trustees Committee, add:
"Dean White thanked the President for his statement and the University
Faculty voiced its approval with applause."

2. In the list of persons recommended for honorary degrees, after
the name of Samuel N. Cassidy, change the word "Consolidated" to
"Consolidation".

The meeting of the Faculty had been called to consider further the recom«
mendations of the Rules Committee. Dr. Weaver, Chairman of the Committee,
presented first an amendment to the rule under "Late Registration" which had
been referred back to the committee at the meeting of March 10, The Faculty
approved the amended rule as follows:

Late Registration. After the sixth day of classes in either semester
or the fourth day of the summer session, no student may register for an
organized class. On recommendation of the college dean concerned, the
Registrar may set a later day for final registration in classes that do
not start on the first day of a semester or the summer session, or for
the registration of groups of students that are not present at the
regular registration time.

In presenting II, ADMISSION TO THE UNIVERSITY, Dr. Weaver explained that
no change in the rules had been recommended since the whole question of ad-
mission requirements was to be studied by a special committee. The Rules
Committee had, however, condensed the statements concerning admission to
colleges and schools into three divisions a Undergraduate Colleges, Professional
Colleges. and the Graduate School. The classification into Undergraduate
colleges and Professional Colleges is an arbitrary one set up by the committee
to distinguish between colleges which admit students directly from the high
school and those that require two or more years of college werk.

The University Faculty approved Admission Requirements, Section 1, Admisflfin
to the Freshman Class. Section 2, Admission 33 Advanced Standing was approved
with the following amendment: The last sentence was changed to read: "Credit
hours accepted from junior colleges will be limited to a maximum of 67."

Section 3, Admission 21.2 Special Student:

and Section 4, Admission g§_gg
Auditor, were approved as presented.

during one calendar year will be accepted by the University unless it may
be definitely shown that the work has been done under conditions where
the student has engaged in full time study and has not been otherwise
employed. This includes extension work done in other institutions.

2. No extension course carrying credit shall be offered on the
